Bucket Head Tavern (BHT) started as dream of Troy Hale’s over 10 years ago. Unofficially, the first one opened in the basement of his home with friends and family. After his football playing career at the University of Tennessee and working in medical sales, he enlisted the help of his brother, Jeff Hale, who was Waylon Jennings drummer for over 15 years. They had a dream of creating a tavern that “was a gathering place for all comers”, served the best beers both domestic and imports, created terrific tavern food for all palettes and had a wine list that would challenge any upscale restaurant in Knoxville. Also, what was important to Troy and Jeff, outside of serving good beer, great food and excellent wine, was creating an atmosphere were people could truly enjoy themselves and feel apart of something special.
Bucket Head Tavern is located in the old Rolf Lanz Ski Shop inKnoxville, Tennessee. The chalet architecture has been transformed in to an Old English feel including a “peep hole” door at the entrance. The interior is a mixture of dark wood and rock with architectural tiles accenting the exterior walls with a large fireplace for those cold Knoxville nights. All the doors have been handcrafted giving Bucket Head Tavern a unique and distinctive appeal. Although the look and feel of BHT will take you back in time, there are over 10 large Plasma TVs to watch sporting events, digital jukebox with a high-end sound system and even an iPhone docking station where you can charge your phone. For the gamers, BHT sports two Pool Tables, Iron Tip or Electronic Dartboards and arcade style games such as Power Putt, Big Buck Hunter, PGA Golf, and Golden Tee. Outside, BHT has a Corn Hole Area and one of the only Bocce Ball courts in Knoxville.
One of the unique features of Bucket Head Tavern are their 2 outdoor patios. One is where patrons can enjoy themselves while watching or playing Bocce Ball or Corn Hole. The other patio is built around an amazing rock water feature under the shade of 2 large River Birches with Adirondack chairs.
Whatever your taste may be, Bucket Head Tavern is the place for a “Hale of a Good Time”.
